Welcome Military Families to the Hayfield Community!
Hayfield Elementary is proud to be a Virginia Purple Star designation.
What is the Virginia Purple Star Designation?
The Virginia Purple Star Designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military.
Military Family Life Counselor
The Department of Defense has offered School Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC) to several schools who serve military families, and Hayfield Elementary is one of them!
The MFLC is here to support the military dependents and their families, via short term solution focus non-medical counseling. This is done via:
-
Groups and 1:1 interaction.
-
Classroom visibility and interactions.
-
Support school activities.
The MFLC Program was to provide non-medical counseling services and short-term problem resolution to military children and those that support them. Hayfield Elementary School has been assigned Ms. Saundra Jackson. Ms. Jackson will be providing services to Hayfield Elementary and Fort Belvoir Elementary School. When military families enroll their children, the MFLC can be there to greet them and assist with the transition. You may contact Ms. Jackson at 571-386-7884.
